Breeding, Showing, Leasing, and Selling Mares

Below are mares that we currently own. They have either been shown in the past or that is what our plans for them are. We show halter but also ride, drive, use the mares for youth classes, or just to have fun at home. They are a great group of girls and put up with a lot. Our horses are use to many unusual situations such as firearms (having 3 kids in the National Guard and hunting called for a gun range on the property), many fireworks, dogs, and just the patience to put up with a group of 5 kids that make many situations interesting.

KDJ's Miss Destiny is a registered 5 year old Clydesdale mare. She is a dark bay with 4 high white socks. She is trained for halter and cart. She was a filly that I won from our local fair essay contest in 2006, we purchased her from Jeff Goodell of Goodell Clydesdales, www.goodellclydesdales.com . She has great conformation and is a wonderful horse to be around. She has been showing since 2007 and has done quite well in the 2009 season. Check out placings on the show winnings page. She is currently 18 hands. There is no doubt that she will continue to be a great hitch mare and line horse too! Thank you Jeff for allowing us to purchase Destiny!!!
Destiny has spent this whole season with Stalhiem Farms being shown in their mare six horse hitch. At the conclusion of this season, she was a part of the 2011 Reserve World Champion Mare 6 Horse Hitch. I cannot thank the Stalhiem Family enough for showing her and doing well with her.

Mona was purchased from the 2011 National Clydesdale Sale. She has 3.5 white legs and is a growthy filly. She is coming to the shows with us and is a pleasure to work with and moves with a snap. She has done great showing for us this year constantly in the ribbons. She was 8th at the National Show in Milwaukee, 1st at Boone County Fair, 3rd at Illinois State Fair, 2nd and Reserve Jr Champion Walworth County Fair. She is growing well and we can't wait to show her next summer.

Selina is an older broodmare. We bought her from the 2010 National Clydesdale Sale with a foal at side. She is a been there, done that type of horse. Although she is done showing, the kids still take her to the local fair to ride and use in the local 4-H group. Selina is a wonderful mare with plenty of bone, feather, and drafty features to put some substance into the foals today. Although she did not stay pregnant this year, we hope to try again next year and get a foal from her.

Izy was purchased from Marion Young in Hanover, Ontario. She was shown as a foal and placed 5th in the class of junior fillies at the Royal in Toronto. Izy has a lot of nice feather and good legs. We were drawn to her by her eyes, unlike most other bald faced horses, her eyes are outlined in black. Not quite sure what we will be doing with her but hopefully she does well in whatever her future holds.

Sandy Acres Classic Storm is a 3 year old mare that has done well for us this year. She was shown as a foal and was Reserve Grand Champ at our county fair then won her class at another fair in Michigan. We didn't show her again until she was 3 and started off winning the Grand Champion honors at the county fair, was 7th at our National Show, 3rd at Boone County Fair, 1st and Reserve Grand Champ at Illinois State Fair and 1st at Walworth County Fair. Storm is broke to drive and has done well at home. We hope to get her driving next year in classes. Storm is in foal to our stallion Timberline Major and due early February.
